Jim Ross wrote a blog on his WWE Universe profile and mentioned John:
Is John Cena for sure 100% physically ready to win the World's Title in
Boston at the Survivor Series against reigning Champ Chris Jericho? Has
any one seen Cena work out lately? Is Cena spending any time in the
wrestling ring? Will ring rust adversely affect the charismatic,
strong-as-a-bull Cena? We all know that Cena's will to win will be in
place but if one puts themselves in Jericho's place, Cena is seemingly
getting all the pub, Cena is getting more exposure on TV than the
World's Champion, and many people feel that it is a forgone conclusion
that it's a lay-up for Cena and that Jericho loses in Boston. Returning
after months of rehab and physical therapy from a serious injury isn't
easy even for a super human individual like John Cena especially when
he has to beat Jericho and Jericho doesn't have to beat Cena to win the
World's Title.
Jim Ross mentioned John yet again in yesterday's blog.
"The goal of this program was to obviously sell this Sunday's Survivor Series featuring the return to the ring of John Cena. Without question, Cena's return is the featured component of Sunday's PPV in Boston. Every PPV needs a clearly defined focus and Cena's return is definitely that for Sunday's event.
The John Cena vignettes have been extremely well done and
certainly illustrate what can be done via vignettes for other
talents if utilized in a comparable method. I'm even interested in
knowing more about some of the guys in the Cena
vignettes including John's brothers and friends who did a great job in
providing telling sound bytes on John's behalf. Without coming off as
too much of a sycophant, the WWE TV folks do a helluva job with
pre-produced packages ala the Cena vignettes, etc. "
The New York Daily News reported today that Vince McMahon and John Cena were
in the front row of the 11/13 AC/DC concert at Madison Square Garden "rocking
out."
I certainly hope that John Cena is physically 100% come this
Sunday in his "hometown" of Boston for the Survivor Series. It doesn't
seem far fetched to say that Cena would appear to be a heavy favorite
to win the World's Title from Chris Jericho on Cena's first night back
after being shelved due to a neck injury requiring surgery. I will be
curious to see what kind of reception Cena receives in Bean Town and
will enjoy watching the event from ringside as Michael Cole and Jerry
Lawler call that particular bout. Without question Jericho will have
his share of fans in Boston on Sunday as well. It's all good as there
will be a backside every 18 inches as the event has been sold out to
the tune of over $700K since tickets went on sale several weeks ago.
